15.2 Tallowbridge - Monatrim Upper - Ballynaraha - Holy Well Loop
Park your car at Tallowbridge or follow the route indicated in 15.1. This is a longer walk; at the thatched house continue for a further 0.6km, passing by Ballinvella National School built in 1862.
At the Ballynaraha 'T' junction turn left and enjoy the magnificent views of the Blackwater Valley, the hinterland of Lismore, the Vee Gap, Sugarloaf Hill and the Knockmealdown Mountains.
Keep left at the next fork and continue until you reach the farm at Owbeg Bridge. Turn left at the farm and follow this road parallel to 'An Abha Bheag' (a stream which feeds into the Blackwater).
On your left is the beautiful forest which covers Ballysaggartbeghill. At the end of this road there is a Holy Well. Turn left and then right, onto a narrow road which rises up to join the road to Tallowbridge, as outlined in 15.1.
The foregoing walks may be shortened by 2.5km by starting at the fork for Lismore or alternatively at the thatched house.
