Walk Type: (road)
Time:3.5 hrs
Distance:12 km

Park your car at Tallowbridge and take the lower road parallel to the Bride River. This part of the walk rises up gradually towards an emerging magnificent view of the Bride River and the Bride Valley. Continue until you meet a signposted fork which indicates Lismore to the left.

Take the right hand fork and the road gently rises with a wonderful view north across the Blackwater Valley towards Lismore, the Vee Gap and the Knockmealdown Mountains and south over the Bride Valley and river hinterland. Janeville indicated on the map was the quay on the Bride River at which ships from the UK berthed and unloaded supplies for the military in Fermoy. The supplies were unloaded onto mule trains which transported the goods to the Military Barracks at Fermoy.

Shortly you will arrive at a junction overlooking a beautiful thatched Swiss style house. Turn left and descend through the winding, wooded roads for 2km.

Take the first turn left up a road which gradually rises with superb views of the valley and eventually rejoins the road (at the signpost for Lismore) which leads back to Tallowbridge.
