Begin at the Lismore Heritage Centre and walk up Chapel Street. Go straight on past the fire station and St. Carthage's Church. Further on (3 km) you will pass through the cross-roads and the Holy Well at an Abha Bheag mentioned in walk 15.2.

The road continues up through the woods via a series of hairpin bends under Ballysaggartbeghill on your left. At the 'T' junction, at the beautiful thatched Swiss style house, turn left past Ballinvella National School and turn left at the Ballynaraha 'T' junction. Follow the scenic road back to Lismore with Ballysaggartbeghill on your left again. This walk presents some spectacular views of the Blackwater Valley, the Knockmealdowns, Lismore and the Vee Gap in the background.
